I started my martial arts journey at a very young age in Judo where I competed in tournaments around the United States. This led to an interest in all disciplines. These include Muay Thai, Jiu Jitsu, Karate, Wrestling, and eventually Mixed Martial Arts.

I managed professional kickboxing athletes and mixed martial artists throughout the Nation. I realized I had a passion for assisting athletes’ growth personally and professionally.

My son began training Jiu Jitsu in January 2022 at the age of four. His competitiveness, eagerness, and love of the sport allowed me to assist as a coach in the gym which led to a competition team in September 2022. In 2023, I decided to plan my first Controlled Combat Jiu Jitsu event with many more to come in the various disciplines of combat sports.

We have completed our 5th event! This was the best turnout yet. 100 competitors and closed in on 300 total people at the venue. There was a delicious, puerto rican food truck outside while competitors worked hard and attendees cheered (almost as hard). There is some big news coming so stay tuned!!!! Why compete at Controlled Combat?

"This was the best grappling event we have been apart of because of the amount of mat time and feedback after matches our son got. The staff was also very accommodating by providing someone to coach him." - Hilarion M.

"Whether you are a beginner or advanced, everyone wants a well run meet. One that is organized, on time, and professionally run. But especially for the beginners, those meets that are chaos can discourage young people form ever going back. This was an excellent experience where our son could actually hear his coaching and as a result felt he got the most out of his rolls. Ecen the matches he lost, he felt good about the experience and made a new friend. This has recommitted him to the sport. We look forward to the next meet!" - Teddi B.

"It was a great experience. I appreciated how not only did you put safety first with the kids, but your team educated the parents ahead of time when there would be stoppage so it would stay safe. Elijah had a great time and can't wait to do it again." - Mara C
